Einerseits wertet die hohe Inflation das Arbeitslosengeld immer weiter ab. Andererseits fallen Arbeitslose nach einigen Monaten in die Notstandshilfe. Allein dadurch entsteht beim Grundbetrag ein Kaufkraftverlust von fünf Prozentpunkten. Liegt das Arbeitslosengeld über der Ausgleichszulage (1.030 Euro), fällt der Verlust durch die Notstandshilfe mit acht Prozentpunkten noch höher aus.
